A young American woman, Nancy (Clara Bow), meets the son of a French prince during a trip to Paris. They spend an unforgettable night together at a wax museum. Robert, however, is already betrothed to the daughter of a Marquis, but Nancy has her own plans for him. In this playful narrative, tradition becomes a toy in the hands of a modern woman showcasing Dorothy Arzner's star-making talent as a director.

Dorothy Arzner

Dorothy Arzner was a pioneering director, producer, and lecturer in women's cinema. Raised in Los Angeles, she built her career during the classical Hollywood era, working at Paramount and RKO, and later as an independent filmmaker. She was the first woman to join the American Directors Guild and directed sixteen feature films in her career. Known for her ability to create stars, she worked with icons like Clara Bow, Katharine Hepburn, and Joan Crawford. Arzner specialized in romantic comedies and melodramas and made a lasting impact on cinema history with films like Dance, Girl, Dance.
